Best song EVER!

Okay, so maybe it's not that great, but it's pretty close. You really did a great job with this, even though there wasn't anything complex in the lyrics and unless I'm completely deaf there was only one instrument. Your voice was easy to understand, which is a difference from a lot of the vocal stuff on here. I don't really have that much else to say, so just keep up the good work.

Toodle-pip!

MusicalRocky responds:

Haha thanks!
I don't know how I haven't noticed this review lol

I'm glad you liked this. And yeah there's just one instrument.
Thanks for reviewing.

Ooh, sparkly

Weird title... don't know why I put that. Anyway, fantastic song! The song itself is great, with a variety of sounds in it. Th extra vocals added a lot of depth to it, with all their effects, and your pencil-metal drumset sounded great. Excellent job with that. Very catchy tune here, that's all I have to say really. Keep up the good work!

Wow

Amidst all the crap that's been submitted today, I found this. Dude, this is really good. Excellent singing and harmony, was that you playing the piano and bass? If so, you are very talented. If not, you still are good. Aside from a few minor crackles, the cover was pretty much perfect. I even got to hear a verse I haven't heard before. Thanks for putting this up, Cayler!

-Lamp

Cayler responds:

Yessir, that was me playing. I prefer to always have my own productions be completely mine, even if they're a cover of something else. And yeah, I agree about the crackles. The equipment I was using just does that for some reason, and fixing it is almost beyond my control, it's so messed up. It makes me kinda angry, but I deal with it. lol For the verses, I just looked up the lyrics online and found some to use and picked a few out of those that I thought sounded good. Thanks for the review! :)

Win!

This is great! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I love the ukulele, although somewhere in there sounded sounded out of tune for a bar or so. That's just the downside of live recording, but the rest of the track made up for that. Aaron is an awesome singer, and he certainly did this song justice. Diminitive is right, this song would be even better with some quiet strings in the background. Anyway, great cover!

loansindi responds:

Sadly, my uke (a $50 lanakai) has some weird intonation issues, which is why on some chords it sounds out of tune.

Thanks for the review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I don't know about anyone else...

but I like it. I like how you combined genres, and I thought they fit together pretty well. I liked the waves effects, but I was sort of surprised when you sidechained them to the kick. Never heard of that before. Anyway, the panning was nice, and nothing here hurt my ears. I don't have any constructive criticism, so all I can say is good luck in the Trancegiving contest!

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the comments, Lamp. I'm glad you liked it and hopefully others will as well. We'll see though. Also, when I idechained the waves, I was first thinking about what I could do to add to that next section. I tried it and really liked how it sounded, very different. So I'm glad to hear that you noticed that. Thanks again for the review!

You deserve a review, methinks

This is just too cool not to have any reviews, so here ya go! I swear I've heard that intro somewhere, but I can't remember. Anyway, I really appreciate the variation between instruments in this. Not many people combine cellos/violins with electric guitars and bass synths, and you did a really nice job making them all fit together. I can't really offer any criticism with this, but I can say - you're good! Expressing emotions in music is really hard for me to do, and I've always admired people who can do it well.

Your piano sounds really nice, is it live or sequenced?

So... I'd like to hear some more from you! Nice job and keep up the good work!

~Light

midnightmadness11 responds:

yes, you probbably have heard that intro before since i didn't exactly make it from scratch. i just found tracks that seemed to fit together, whether they were organs (the instrument, not the bodily kind XD) or pianos or crazy electric guitars. i had fun with that.
personally, i don't see how somebody can say they can't convy emotion through music (no offence). that is what music is, emotion portrayed with audio, with or without lyrical assistance.
(i luv reviews. ur awesome) :D

You rock at imagery

Seriously, I can see thousands of men marching in columns, holding up banner and shouting their war cries. You are so good at this. The brass is energetic and powerful, the solo singer sounds good, and I think there's a duduk playing after him? Correct me if I'm wrong, but either way it sounds great. These recent songs are fantastically orchestrated, it almost sounds like I'm right there listening to live performers... amazing.

Can't wait for whatever you come out with next, Maestro!

MaestroRage responds:

You caught the duduk?! Very impressive to say the least. Many wouldn't even know what it was let alone be able to identify it through all this. I tip my hat to you.

I have had the opportunity to make a couple tracks with the kind of structure I see fit rather then loops which is what most flash authors need. This song in particular was commissioned for a battle scene in an MMO *yet to be disclosed information wise, so I was given the liberty to make the song of a great length and of as much depth as I wanted.

There are not many more tracks being requested like this, but the work I will release I hope you and everybody else will find entertaining at the least :)

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Yes!

Finally, a remix that isn't a clone with different instruments! This one has a completely new feel, what with the strings around 1:20, airy synths ten seconds later, and the interesting sound that come in somewhere around 2:50. The piano had some variation in it, too, and I really like the way the song back off near the end. Best remix I've heard of this song yet, because of your great talent and the fact that this stands out from the rest! I'm going to have to listen to more of your stuff now... Keep up the good work!

Envy responds:

Thanks for the review man. you mean a real remix XD

Hmmmm

I submitted my rendition of this song yesterday and I just realized that there was another version. Oh, well. Besides this being note-for-note what the original was, I liked it. The quality of the game music wasn't so hot, and I'm glad that some people besides me are making better versions. Alternativesolution, the string is supposed to be like that. There are a lot of rhythm things going on here, and I think it keeps the song from sounding too generic.

Oh, and as far as I remember, it only plays during the time when Kyle is locked in the cellar. I might be wrong, haven't played it in a while.

Although I like it better with piano, you did a good job on this.
