Hmm.

I really liked this! I thought the transition into the drums was just fine, although that click to the left is getting a little annoying right now. :/ I can say that this is quite relaxing, excellent use of these synths. A good delay piano could have added a lot to the track, maybe an acoustic bass that faded in and out... I don't know, ambient pieces never sound completely finished to me. With all this atmosphere there's always more space to fill up, right?

Anyway, very nice job here! Keep up the good work!

-Lamp (I have a new song out... hint hint :P)

Teddybeere responds:

Thanks for thinking about it. Yeah this piece is really minimalistic but it seems okay to me. I'll keep it up. And I'll visit your song...

Whoa...

At first I started listening and thought, "Hey, this would make awesome background music!" Then the song started evolving into what I'm hearing now. Much better than background music.

Everything flows together quite well, I couldn't critique your sounds or composition much. One suggestion I have is that you put some/more reverb on the syncopated guitar. It sounds nice, but a fuller sound that lasts longer would be nice.

Lovely use of instruments and you covered the sound range well. Keep up the good work!

thanks for the review when this song originally came out it had 5 stars for 5 straight votes till some one voted 3 on it

Ack!

This is annoying. Here I am, a year older than yourself writing songs and giving them to the girl who inspired them. I come and listen to some of your music because you reviewed me in the past, and now I feel bad.

First off, your talent is amazing for someone your age. I feel like it's a waste for the girl not to hear this, even if you're putting it up for the rest of the world to listen to. I convinced myself to stop keeping my songs to myself and give them to the girl who inspired them, and it went very well. I suggest you do the same, because this song would... like, blow her away.

Seriously, this has a very good chance with placing in the MAC9. Best of luck to you!

Zero123Music responds:

:) thanks alot lamplighter;
Personally I think you are more talented than I - by far,

and the thing about this girl is.. she's way out of my league - of course she's a mate, so I don't really wanna go and do something that just sinks our friendship.
*^^ sorry i couldn't resist a joke about the SS friend-ship xP*

wow, you think it'll actually place? thanks again :)

I laughed

I laughed when I saw you used a Drifloon as your icon... I don't know why, but it's funny to me.

I love this song, even if it isn't what I normally listen to. Very upbeat in a wobbly and alien sort of way. Very techno... I like the synths. Pad is very nice, great percussion as well. Very nice job here, even if that non-believer disagrees. Keep up the good work!

Nav responds:

Thanks for the review! :)

And yeah, that Drifloon was supposed to be funny. I thought it represented the track well! XD

Haha...

Sounds like an awesome combination of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and LubLub194's versions. Both of which are awesome.

Anyway, ready for some constructive criticism?

The beginning is what everyone starts their remixes with... I think you could just use the last chord and a drum pattern to start up the song instead of the progression we've heard thousands of times before.

The real meat of the song was quite nice! The main synth you used reminds me a lot of the one LubLub194 used, but I'm not going to count you off for that. Acoustic guitar sounds lovely, if slightly repetitive. Nice new sound with the electric guitar.

Drums... I really don't mean to be offensive but they're generic. Basic rhythm, FL Kick and other samples. Just change up the rhythm and add some syncopation every so often to lose the beat simplicity, and if you search "drum samples" on Google you can find literally hundreds of better samples. It's worth it!

Overall, pretty good remix! Fix the drums and maybe change the intro and you'd get a ten from me! I hope to hear something else from you soon!

-Lamp

P.S. - It's taken me a whole five minutes to write this review! Check out some of my stuff, maybe?

Ozzy93 responds:

thankz for the rewiev. i will try my best to put some better drum patterns in there, but i dont want to take too much attention off the main melody.

Not your best...

But still pretty nice. Brings back memories of Dance Dance Revolution and their "Speed Over Beethoven" tune. I can't say I see where the generically-named (no offense) reviewer below me doesn't think this is good. But hey, it's three points higher than her could have given you.

You always do nice remixes of classical pieces. At first, I thought this would just be an average decent remix, which is probably why the score is so low (peeps listening to the first second and dropping the O-bomb) But the song this evolved into was excellent!

It's all the little things like effects on the synths and your percussion that are so nice. I especially liked the synth playing solid eighths/sixteenths, carried the harmony well. There was a hit at around 1:15 that sounded a tad messy, but the rest of the mix sounded clean and fresh. :)

As always, looking forward to your next song!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

Thanks! Now I'm feeling good again. :)

That hit was really annoying. I wanted it to hit hard, but there was so many other sounds at that moment that I had to raise the volume of it too much to make it noticeable enough.

Spectacular!

Awesome. I love every part of this! Your use of ambience here is great as usual, your standard unique percussion abilities appear again... synths sound great. I really like the bell sound as well, and the kick that comes in and echoes out with a delay. Slowing down ending is a nice effect.

And this was in a different time signature originally? I couldn't even tell!

Excellent job overall! I don't have anything in the way of constructive criticism (un)fortunately. I feel like I repeat myself every time a review your music, but I really mean it! Keep up the awesomeness!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

Well, thank you!

Yeah, it is quite a huge difference between this version and the original. Like 100 years of evolution. :)

People are so unfair.

I've never heard the original, but this sounds great. In no way does it deserve the score it's getting now. Excellent job making it sound live, the crowds' cheering was realistic, and the reverb and other effects you had on the music were fantastic. Vocals, great. Great job on the video, too. I don't make rock, but it was still helpful! Keep up the good work.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Yeah, I have a group of nay-sayers that like to downgrade me. It comes with the territory whenever you publicly share your talent. Seems most of them don't like me because I'm gay, but in all honesty, you can't survive in my position of life without developing a sense of apathy toward ignorance.

Anyway, that's beside the point.

I'm glad you like the song, and I moreso appreciate that you liked the way it was done.

The original song was in the Super Mario Bros. movie made back in the 1990's.

Haha...

I can't think of a single part for this piano collab that doesn't rock my socks... except mine. Mine sucks. :P But this was very nice. I like the rhythm, it sounds different that the other parts. It may be simple, but I liked it a lot.

-Lamp

mjattie responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it a lot :)

Agrees with KaizerWolf

Voters never give your songs fair ratings... it just goes to show that people here are lazy and only listen to the first few seconds.

I thought that it started off quite well. The snap sounded a little out-of-place (to me, there's really nothing wrong with it), but settled in quite well once the song got going. The snare was great, I like the rhythm.

The thunder effects were a very nice addition as well... I envy your ability to make a song almost perfectly matching what it's about.... as always, keep up the great work!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

Yeah, the snap -might- be a little out-of-place. I'll have to edit that sample before I'll use it again sometime.

The funny thing is that I decided what the song was about when it was already finished. :)

Thanks for your 10!
