Ooh, a long one!

I don't see why people have to turn their volume to max, because that would probably break my eardrums. Not that this is too loud, just that my speakers go up high enough I can hear them from anywhere in the house. Volume here sounds good on my end. :)

This does sound a lot more structured, probably because it got so much time to progress. Just enough time for this song. The only criticism I have is to maybe make the synth around the 4:20 mark hold on a bit longer. They seemed kind of restrained, and it'd be nice to hear them drawn out.

As for the genre, it just sounds like a more ambient version of pop, so I don't really know where else you could put this. Maybe you could invent a new genre: popient!

Anyway, very nice job on this. It sounds very nice, and I'm glad you made something good and long. :) Keep up the great work!

ReFreezed responds:

Yeah, it's good I made something good, FINALLY... oh well. :P I like that new genre: popient, lol. Anyway, thanks for a great review!

That was odd

I heard the start of this song and thought, wouldn't that be cool if there was a piccolo that played this phrase? And sure enough, the music box played something so similar to what I thought up I shivered. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that it's 28 degrees here, but...

Anyway, very nice song. Everything sounds perfect as usual. I even got to hear more of Arsenic's lovely voice! Keep up the good work!

MaestroRage responds:

That is very strange indeed! Perhaps it was just that predictable? =)
Anyway, please remember to read the info and signia. MaestroRage had absolutely nothing to do with this piece, other than telling me it was sexy and offering for me to put it on his page along with my other recent pieces. So if you see the plusses and boxes, it's a Lady Arsenic song. Thank you for listening!

With love,
LadyArsenic <3

Here I am again!

This is a very nice song! I'm not going to take off very many points for the sound quality because you've explained why that is already. This sounds very epic and suspenseful with the arpeggiating strings and choir. I thought I heard the strings clash a couple of times, but that only made it more suspenseful and full of action. The orchestra hits helped that too. I really liked the hammer sound, don't really know what that is. (Maybe the tubular bells?) And the piano part around 2:06 (where I'm assuming Gabriel falls) really captures the sudden realization that a beautiful soul has just vanished from the world. Very nice part. All in all, this is a very epic track. Fix the sound quality, and this would be awesome!

I'll review some more of your stuff later, but for right now keep up the good work!

LacrimosaMuse responds:

thanks again lol, ya i see wat u mean by the strings clashing, the violin part didnt turn out exactly the way i wanted it to but as i said im trying to rewrite it on a defferent program to help fix some of the mistakes, ha the hammer sound was a tube bells/chimes (theyre basically the same thing, but the chimes ring longer so i doubled the parts and cut their volume in half

Let's see

Well, it is repetitive, but I'm going to ignore that for now. Everything sounds nice, except for the flute/violin instrument. There are some places where that gets a little too shrill for my ears. Otherwise, I thought this was good. The hit at the end could have used some reverb or maybe even an echo, but that's your choice. Very nice for a soundtrack... if the trailer is epic you might want to start the song out with more energy. I don't know what the trailer is like, so some of this might not apply.

Anyway, nice job, keep up the good work!

masterjiji responds:

the instrument you thougt of is a piccolo, and yes it does drill holes in one's head.

Well...

It is a little repetitive, and I'm not really a fan of that kick, but otherwise this is a good song! It's got a frantic, have-to-be-somewhere-else-right-now type of feeling, which judging by the title is pretty close to what you were going. I really liked the low rumble near the beginning, don't know if that's just my bass-heavy earbuds picking that up. I also liked the frog-sounding thing you used, although I have no idea what that was it sounds cool. Another nice addition is the sixteenth-note plucked sound (or was is eighths because of the tempo?) The only criticism I have is that the kick sounds a lot like the FL default, which a lot of people use. It fits well, but I just hear it so often it doesn't have the same effect.

Anyway, good job. I don't know why this is getting bad scores, someone definitely needs to fix the zero-voting problem. Ah well. Keep up the good work!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

I was kinda stressed when I made it... or maybe I got stressed by making it. Hmm...

The kick is actually two different kicks at the same time, but one of them is the default one... so yeah. :P

I'm guessing the rumble you heard was supposed to be there. It's (kind of) one of the kicks in reverse. I got some new headphones that actually makes me hear the bass of my songs now, lol.

The "frog" sound was something I just had to include. It was too awesome to be left out. :)

Finally, death to zero-voters, and thank you for listening and reviewing!

Very good job!

Once again I find myself reviewing a remix where I haven't heard the original. Not the best thing to be doing, but ah well.

Everything sounds nice, but like ReFreezed mentioned the drums sound a little monotone. There's a hi-hat line that could have used a little volume variation. Otherwise, you've got some new rhythms going here that I like! They sound realistic, so that's another bonus. Nice job here, keep up the good work!

ThunderHorseL responds:

Thanks lamp! I'll work on the monotony of the HH's

Only an hour?

Well, for as long as you spent on this it turned out pretty well. The beginning was nice, I like the slight reverb on the kick. Gives it more of an atmospheric feeling. Everything up until the two minute mark sounds good, it's hard to describe what images I'm getting from this. It's like watching a showdown between two people, each glaring at each other, determined to win but not making a move. Something like that. Two minutes in is probably my favorite part. I really like the piano, even though it doesn't play such a major part. Good song on the whole, I liked it a lot. Keep up the good work!

-Lamp

HMS-Productions responds:

haha didn't think anyone would notice the reverb on the kick. Not really sure what the inspiration for this was, something about how the world sucks though :D

Thanks for the review

Wow

Is this going to become a thing where there's a song every day or two? I mean, they're good, but wow... :)

Anyway, I've only heard the original once or twice, so I don't know how everything works in it. This sounds like a really nice remix! Maybe a bit short... it doesn't really feel finished at the end. I feel like you could have taken the ending, left a second or two there just for effect, and then started playing a slower, less high-energy part without the guitar, then burst right back in and after running a little longer finished it the way you did here. But that's just my suggestion. I don't know how that would sound compared to the original... blah blah blah.

Anyway, very nice remix. The drums sort of reminded me of a fast waltz :) but otherwise everything sounded great. Keep up the good work!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

You know, thats a GREAT idea! But I'm currently too annoyed by the song to continue on it. Maybe I'll make a longer and better version in the future. Maybe. Thanks for an awesome review! :D

Touching

Very nice job on the piano here, it's very sad in a hopeful sort of way. I can't say I liked these pads changing so often, but it worked. Anyway, very nice song you have here, Mcewthom. I hope to see more like this coming from you!

-Lamp

Mcewthom responds:

I'll be dead this time next year but I'm going to release as many songs on here until that day, Im glad you enjoyed this. It means alot :)

Boy, do people not like your stuff.

There's no reason this deserves the score it's getting now, 2.92. I guess people just don't appreciate this type of music.

Ah well. I like it. I'm not going to say it's your best, because I haven't listened to all of your stuff yet, but it's got to be some of your best. I like the way this starts out strongly, with the panning on the hi-hat giving me the feeling I was out in the open somewhere I didn't really want to be. I really like the synths and melodies you used here, they all convey different feelings but still stick with the same idea (if that makes an ounce of sense). The transitions were good, and I have no complaints. Great job!

-Lamp

ReFreezed responds:

I guess I'm a popular target for zero-voters. :( But anyway, I personally think the reviews are more important than the voting score.

The panning thing was actually the last thing I added, but now I hear that it has quite an impact on the song. The only thing I'm not that proud of is the snare drums, but oh well...

I was very unsure what people would think of this one, mainly because I didn't put that much work into it. So I'm glad you liked it. :)
