[Piano Echoes - Mjattie]

What can I say?

This song is amazing. I don't think the intro is too long, in fact I don't think it would be as good if it were shorter. Piano is excellent in here, gratz on playing parts of it! I think this song would fit very nicely as the opening credits to a wintery movie, or some animation. The synths fit in very nicely, my only complaint there is the synth that enters around 3:04 is a little too harsh for me. loud. Maybe turn that down a little at that small part, and then everything's perfect. Really nice job on this, Mjattie!

This is what I've been waiting for.

After checking your page every few days for the past two or so months, and leaving reviews for your songs every once in a while, I finally found something!

I really like the style you do your tracks. Everything good about techno is in here, and everything that's bad was flipped upside down and turned awesome. Your bass isn't as deep and pumping as a lot of tracks, but there is still a very good balance to the sounds. The percussion is fantastic, and even though it could have used a snare like S3C said, it still carries itself fine.

I love your variety of sounds, all of your songs sound completely new. I'm thrilled you have a new song, and I'm really looking forward to more!

And it is reading reviews like this in the darkest of writers blocks that ecourages me to press forward and making new songs! As much as i love critical reviews like the ones my friend s3c leaves me, i equally love and appriciate comments like these.
It's refreshing to see that people not only still visit my site, but are still eager for more. I'm also glad to hear i was able to take what you didnt like about techno and flip it into something you could enjoy! It's not easy task to take anyone thing that people might not like and apply it in a way that would be deemed acceptable! And now that i review even further, (S3c i forgot to mention this to you) but the reason I kept the bass at a rather moderate level rather than have it stand out was due to volume levels. I've become very stingey when it comes to mastering the volume levels, so if itstarts pushing red when it doenst need to or by the wrong instrument at the wrong time, im gonna lower it. Also i felt that the bass wasn't going to be a focal point in this song, too many techno songs revolve around it, and although I admit its a very strong point in many songs of this genre, i felt it didnt really fit the style I was aiming for here anyway.) The snare...lol yea kinda messed up there. could have used a more noticable sample there, but I guess im just gonna have to look out in the future for that one lol.

Well now

This is unlike anything I've heard before. It's sort of like taking a little bit of MaestroRage's stuff, tossing it in a blender with a Pokemon game soundtrack and a saxaphone, mixing that with some cool guitars, baking it for an hour at 400 degrees, then icing it with a good amount of SolusLunes. That probably was all over the place, but my main point is that I like it! The flutes were fantastic, and the jazzy/guitar stuff you added in here really made the track sound like this could be about anywhere in the world.

I don't really know what the chime-like percussion that opened the song was, but it never really got old. Normally when I hear something playing for that long I get tired of it, but there was enough going on in the rest of the piece it didn't bother me.

This is a great song, and unique! It's going on my favorites for sure.

I'm glad you liked it! The chimes were, in fact, finger cymbals (like ImperfectDisciple said) and the reason they were there is because I thought they moved the song along and kept the tempo up. Did you notice that the song felt a lot slower when they weren't playing? It was a good way to keep the music moving. :D

But if you want to hear something that's all over the place, you should totally go check out Forever Never. I tried to blend about five genres into that song.

I've never heard the original, but I have to assume this is at least as good. Because it sounds awesome! I'm going to try to leave a good review here, but since I'm tired it might end up as a wall of nonsense. I'm hoping it doesn't.

First off, I really like how you switched between high-energy and low-energy, it really made the two levels stand out from each other. Next, I thought the sliding bass note was pretty cool. I don't hear that a lot, even though it's a pretty cool sound. Next, drum solos are fantastic! :) I don't recognize these drums as anything I've heard before, and if they sound original it really helps the song.

The only thing I didn't really like was the guitar. It sounded a lot like FL Slayer, which just doesn't do much for me. Maybe if you added some effects to change up the sound of it instead of one note played the same as the last.

Otherwise, very good job on this. I'd give you a nine because I didn't like the guitar, but since that's not your fault and because I'm feeling generous, I'll give you a nice 10. Keep up the good work and thanks for reviewing my stuff!

All I can say is... wow. This is fantastic. Great recording you have here. I love the piano, it sounds so warm and comforting. The bass wasn't anything too complex, but then again I never expected it to be. It fits in it's own place very nicely. The drums were clear and fit well. I like the sounds you started around 2:30, and elsewhere in the song. I'm really glad I decided to give you a review, because I've found something amazing.

I don't know what Oslo City is - did you make it up? - but I have images flowing through my head that it's a place where nobody pays attention to each other until later in the song, where a lone person comes and unites them as a community.

I'm really not sure if that's anything like what you were thinking, but whatever works, right? Anyway, great piece here. A download and a 5 from me!

Creative, that's for sure

Wow... I thought I was the only person going to upload a story-inspired song today, and that mine was unique (about watching clouds in a colorless world). Wrong, as usual. This is pretty creative, the story and the song. I don't really like, the main synth, but that's just because it's different. There's really nothing wrong with it. It definitely sounds like a modern tribal dance, which I like no matter what the sounds are. I like that you brought the crowd ambience back into the song before it was over - many people just use ambience as an opening and forget about it. Anyway, good job dude and keep up the good work.

Very Nice

I can hear a lot of your style in here, CaB. Excellent guitar playing. I like this fusion, I can't remember the last time there's been a jazz-dnb mix.. It's a little repetitive, but in a good, getting-the-most-out-of-good-things sort of way. Great tune, I like the sound! I'm looking forward to your finished album, whatever your going to do with it when it's done!

Not bad.

I can't say anything really stood out here, but I guess that's for the singer to fill in on. Besides that, this was actually a lot better than most of the stuff on here. I usually find a bunch of crappy, cluttered backing tracks with absolutely no variation (no offense to those people), but yours is different. Yours is well mixed, has a very nice sounding piano, and you change stuff up. I don't listen to much hip-hop, but by my standards this is pretty good! Add some good vocals and this would be great!

Stunning...

Anyone who raters this below a four has a grudge against you, or hasn't listened to the full song. I mean, this is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, remixes on this site.

I thought the beginning sounded pretty good, just what I should expect. Then :54 rolled around and a smile came to my face. I'm serious, I actually smiled. This is what I've been waiting three and a half months for. I listened throught the rest of the song, without pausing for a second. Then I played it again. This melody never gets old. Big cheers to Reasoner, but this remix is every bit as good. I loved eevry bit of it. The drums sounded great, the bass was clean and not overpowering, and the two-note synth you had playing every bar to go along with the melody never became tiring. I even heard some dynamics in here, which I normally don't pay attention to in trance music.

I agree with Reasoner, this remix gives a stronger feeling of dreamy, airy, bliss especially with the counter melody. I can see why you titled it "Karco's See the Light Remix," because this brings beautiful images to my mind. I just want to sit and listen to this all night with my eyes closed... Wow. I'm still stunned at this.

Fantastic work, Karco, and now I know how talented you are as of now. I'm thrilled that I checked your profile today, and that I was among the first to hear this amazing remix. I can't wait to hear more from you!

This is really good! Short, but that suits the song. Very good brass instrument (my sound isn't working now, but I remember it's something like a trumpet), and the rest of the song was very epic. Almost like a different style of MaestroRage, actually. The drums and the low instruments gave the image of marching to the final fight very well, and although I was surprised to hear a piano in there, it was a nice addition. I don't see why this isn't getting a great score, because it's too good for that. Keep up the good work!

The piano part was originally supposed to be a harp, but I couldn't get it to sound particularly good, so I cut it and subbed in a piano.

Doesn't matter, though, I only had one objective for this song: Get that orchestral one-hit low boom perfected. I think I did.
